Some of the most memorable moments in a home happen around the table. For this project, our goal was to transform an underutilized dining area into a warm, inviting gathering space that maximizes seating, improves functionality, and feels effortlessly curated.
THE CHALLENGE
Like many builder-grade dining spaces, this area lacked personality and wasn’t making the most of its footprint. The homeowners wanted comfortable everyday seating for their family while maintaining a clean, elevated aesthetic that complemented the surrounding kitchen.
The biggest opportunity? Creating a dining solution that offered more seating without overwhelming the room.
The Design Solution
Rather than relying solely on traditional dining chairs, we designed a custom banquette-style seating arrangement that instantly transforms the space.
The upholstered bench seating provides:

The warm wood dining table anchors the room, adding natural texture and contrast against the soft neutral upholstery.

Throughout this dining nook, we layered:

In this project, traditional-inspired plate displays and classic wall paneling bring character and charm, while the streamlined dining chairs, modern brass lighting, and clean-lined furnishings keep the room feeling fresh and current.

The brass chandelier was selected to provide both function and ambiance, while the picture light above the decorative plate collection highlights the wall feature and adds another layer of warmth in the evenings.
